Chef de Cuisine

We hosted a couple visitors for the past few days. Ms. Becky and Mr. John came up for their annual migration to the feasting grounds of New York City.

They are professional chefs, you see, and are what mom calls foodies. Mom thinks its great when they come for visits because she and Glenn get to go out on the town trying new and exciting restaurants. I wuff it because they usually bring somethign back for me if I can't go along!

On Monday they went to Blue Hill restaurant. Mom said it's located near NYU, right off Washington Square Park, but that Blue Hill doesn't get their greens from the park but rather in upstate Hudson Valley. The restaurant specializes in locally grown, organic food and plan simply amazing menu selections around that concept. You can tell how cool they are because of the bunny on their logo. I wuff bunnies. I wonder if they can fit a squirrel and a quail in there too?

Mom told me that everyone ordered the tasting menu with wine pairings. I'm not sure just what that means but they all seemed quite pleased with themselves once they returned home. Their bellies were so big!

Then on Tuesday, Ms. Becky and Mr. John decided that it would be nice to cook for Mom and Glenn to celebrate the engagement, and boy what that a terrific idea! They really outdid themselves by making pork saltimbocca over polenta with a bread salad. Just fantastic. Or at least the bread crouton that mom snuck me under the table was! I made sure they knew my sous chef talents could be called upon at any moment.

I wonder if they'll cook a little dinner for me the next time they come up to the big apple?
