Cross Between Glenn Close and Joan Crawford?

My mom recently asked Ms. Deb what were the chances for my finishing my Championship title this coming weekend at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Specialties. Ms. Deb smartly responded:

Hmm, with Specialties I ALWAYS say poor BUT with her quality it is a fair possibility. :-) She is good enough to win (very good) but there are other very nice girls there too. :-)
Very diplomatic Ms. Deb!

This put a thought into my mom's head: Perhaps, some of these "nice" girls might be on a long walk when they are supposed to be in the show ring??? Brisztow Jones would have a clean shot at the title!

Is my mom going the way of the Texas Cheerleader Mom who tried to hire a hitman to take out the competition?

Is she becoming a cross between borderline personality disorder afflicted Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction and Joan Crawford in Mommy Dearest? All this stress and competitive nature of my dog shows might just put her over the edge!

Cover Girl

Since my photo finally made it up onto the Tivoliz website, I thought that I should try to get on the covers of some magazines. Fashion magazines often have famous people on their covers -- people like Natalie Portman, Jennfier Aniston, Brisztow Jones...

Don't I look just fabulous, dahlin'?

Vacation Recap

Since I am still on my summer vacation, I have been slow to recap all that I have done.

But now I have gathered everything together, so here we go!

Dateline: Ohio, Shores of the Scioto River

Things have been hectic here - but fun. While I didn't get to go to the beach resort with my mom (cough, cough cough -- SHE's going with Glenn to Kiawah Island, SC! Why wasn't I invited??), I have found a lot of stuff to keep me busy.

After the drive to Ohio with Ms. Ida, I met up with my sister Rozie, my brother Owe'n and some other relatives - Mister Colton and Doctor Daniel. Fun was had by all but they really wouldn't let me play with the boys on account of my season.

Saturday night we had a specialty show. My brother Owe'n won and now they are calling him Champion Little O-Dog. It was very exciting! Ms. Deb said that I showed really well and she was proud of me. I took a second place and so did sissy Rozie.

On Sunday, we left Ohio and Ms. Deb and Ms. Peggy took us for an adventure. The boys went first (what happened to ladies first??) and then we got to go. It was AWESOME! The Scioto River. There was a rocky shoreline but I never noticed as my feet barely touched the ground.

Me, Rozie and my friend Popcorn

My paws barely touch the water!

This water feels good!

Aren't I the Cutest Pup Ever???

And this one is my favorite. We even made the cover of the Tivoliz Site!
Me and my new best friend Popcorn!!!

Dateline: Somewhere outside Washington, D.C.
We got back to Ms. Peggy's late Sunday night and, after a run in the yard, I went to jail! Well, what I mean is, because of this "season thing, I had to relax in my crate for a while. *sigh* I really wanted to play with the boys but it was just not meant to be.

I do miss my mom, but I am very much enjoying my family vacation here in Maryland. I'm getting back to my roots!

Since we came back to Ms. Deb's, I have been hanging out with my mama Siren and spent some quality time with my sister. We had some runs at McKee Besher and last week I met cousin Champ and my little brother Riley. They are fun and Riley is just the best, although Rozie tried to steal him from me. I wuff Riley!

Ms. Deb says I'm going see my mom this Sunday after I do my show thing at the Conestoga Vizsla Club Dog Show. I can't wait to see her! I wonder if she brought me anything from HER vacation??? Maybe it's a t-shirt from South Carolina? I wuff presents! Hopefully, I can bring my mom a treat from my vacation -- a first place ribbon!

Hi Ohio

Today, I was passed off from Ms. Ida to Ms. Stern and we (Ms. Stern, Ms. Peggy, Rozie, Owe'n, Popcorn and I) are in OHIO! I have never been to Ohio before, but I hear there are places to go swimming. I hope at some point this weekend I can cool off in the H2O! Maybe Owe'n knows because he's been here before when he took the Gateway Vizsla Club Specialty by storm!!! I am going to go ask him...

Wish me luck in my dog show!

Are You There God? It's me, Brisztow.

Something funny happened to me tonight. In addition to Ms. Ida picking me up at 10:30 pm and driving me to Connecticut, I made The Journey: from a puppy to a bitch!
I am all grown up.
Or at least that is what mom has told me. At first I was confused at what was happening, I felt very swollen and tender, and then I saw some blood on my mom's comforter! Mom was like "holy smokes!" Ms. Stern said: "We thought she was looking a little poofy back there." Ms. Stern knows everything!

Since Ms. Ida was due to arrive at any moment, mom was only able to tell me that I had become a "woman" and referred me to a book called "Are you there God? It's me Margaret" by some lady named Ms. Judy. Is that religious propaganda of some sort?

Perhaps, while I am away at my shows in Ohio this weekend and Maryland at the beginning of July, I can read the book and find out.

Until then, don't I look cute in my new panties? Ms. Ida says they are for the new season. Or something like that. So fashionable!

Siren and the City

Hello everyone, My name is Siren, and I am the lucky mama of Brisztow Jones. She was the real tough one of the Fearsome Foursome, so I knew she would do well with Ms. Karen in New York City.

Since I had the opportunity to go and check out Brisztow's haunts, I dove at the chance. Ms Karen mentioned something about getting cocktails and strolling through the park, so I was looking forward to the trip.

Ms. Karen and I departed the show grounds and I enjoyed the wind in my fur as we drove into the city. Ms Karen parks her car in a garage on 131st street so we had a nice long walk to the apartment. On the way, I enjoyed imagining Brisztow running along the very paths I was treading upon and pointing the very squirrels that I was pointing for Ms. Karen.

She thought it would be nice for me to run and play in the dog run, but once we got in there I knew it wasn't for me. There were other dogs in there! They were splashing in the doggie pool! I didn't want to get wet or muddy with these pups so I stayed right next to Ms. Karen. We left shortly thereafter.

Once we got back to the apartment, I got busy sniffing all the corners, chewing on the bones and squeaking Brisztow's toys. What fun! Ms. Karen sure knows how to show a Vizsla a good time.

Ms. Karen and I settled down for an afternoon snoozer only to be woken up two hours later by a visitor -- it was Mr. Glenn! He had come over from the east side to go out to dinner. The plan was dining al Fresco at the Hudson Beach Cafe. Since the restaurant in Riverside Park was outside and canine friendly, I joined them to watch the sunset and to cuddle.

After dinner we returned to the apartment settled in to watch The Squid and the Whale. I thought we'd be taking a ocean journey, but instead we learned all about a family living in Brooklyn in the 1980s. Oh, what a lovely evening!

At The Greenwich Specialty

This weekend are two important dog shows. They are called "specialties" because the Vizsla clubs in the area are hosting special shows along-side the official AKC show. The specitalties are for non-champions (like me and my brother Owe'n) and I get MONEY if I win. Woah! I could use some more nasty knuckles!

There are no points towards my title awarded at specitaly shows, just prestige because SOOOOO-ooo many Vizsla enter. After the specialty show there is a second, supported-entry show, and that is the one that could give me points towards my title.

This Saturday 121 Vizslas came to the dog show. Not all were in the specialty, but a majority were. I won my "12 to 18 month bitches" class, and tried my best in the "finals" but it wasn't meant to be. Ms Ida, tried her best too, but it was my fault I didn't win --- free stacking isn't my strong suit so when I wasn't doing it correctly, I lost to brother Owe'n. Of course, if anyone else beats me I always hope its him! Thank you Ms. Ida for being so patient.

Ms. Stern and Mom thought it best that I go home with Ms. Stern for the night so that I would get my "show face" on. So mom took my mama, Mama Siren, back into the city with her!

I hope she likes hanging out at all my haunts. I think Mama Siren will be writing an entry or two herself about her adventures and thoughts on New York City. I gave her my passwords, so I hope she can figure out all the technology and intricate programming I have to do to make this blog look fantastic... take it away Mama Siren!

Real Mad Pup

I am really mad at my mom. Tonight, not only did she give me a bath, but she cut my nails AND cleaned my ears! I mean... I thought we had an agreement that only one personal hygeine treatment would performed per day. This went above and beyond. Sure I look terrific, and my ears are sweet smelling. And yes I do have two very important shows coming up the weekend, but that is not the point.

Here I am, rightous in my rage, along side my Real Mad Cow:

And again, here I am taking my rage out on my Real Mad Cow:

Dear Mutti

Dear Mutti,

I wuffed running around and around the dining room table. I wuffed getting your windows dirty with my nose prints. I wuffed walking with you for over three hours a day. I wuffed being with YOU!

Can I come back next summer?

Wuff,
Brisztow Jones

Wabbits

My vacation at Mutti and Papa-Dino's house is great! They have these windows in the dinning room, livinging room AND family room that allow me to look out and watch the wabbits!

I wuff wabbits.

They eat Mutti's flowers and hop around. I would like to hunt the wabbits, but Mutti says "no". She's so funny! I wuff Mutti, but not as much as my mom! When is my mom coming to pick me up? I hope she comes soon because I miss her!
