My New Favorite Time

Now that Reid is starting to eat solids, I have a new favorite time of the day: Finger Lickin' Time.

His little fingers covered in oatmeal and pears are delicious. And anytime he doesn't like something new (i.e. every time he has a new food the first time) mom let's me clean up what is leftover! This big sister thing sure pays off.

I just can't wait until he begins feeding himself in a couple months-- I can tell his lack of coordination will reap rewards.

Working Hard to Reduce Productivity

My dad is working from home today so I thought I would take the opportunity to work on my anti-productivity skills.

Since it is a rather chilly day, the technique that I am going to hone is "Lap of Luxury". First you look very sad and lonely.

Should he not pay attention you can move into a more exaggerated pose like this...







He will be sure to respond. Then once your victim is feeling pity -- STRIKE.

Hop up into his lap and enjoy your luxurious belly-wubs.

His productivity is sure to plummet.

Stormy Weather

I am in the BX at Camp McAnanama with Grandpa George and Grandma Sue this week, and am enjoying the long walks the grandpa George is famous for. We are batting down the hatches and preparing to weather Hurricane Irene, as it is about to roll into the city early tomorrow morning.

In preparation for flooding and rising tides that the hurricane will bring, the city is finally allowing Canine Americans on public transportation to help facilitate evacuations from danger zones. And I can't let this opportunity to go to waste! We seized the moment and decided to check out the #1 train.

I will say I was a bit nervous that this train would whisk me away from grandma sue (taking the photo) since I prefer that the pack stay together, but she thankfully joined us once we got on the train.





Ahhhh, much better! I must confess that we didn't actually travel anywhere (since there was no need to evacuate Riverdale) but it was a testament that Canine Americans SHOULD be allowed on the subways anytime.

Vet Check

Went to see Dr Rosenthal this week for my annual treatfest. This year I scored 8 treats in about a half hour -- tied for my all time high.

Here I am trying to put the voodoo hex on my mom... The treats are just over my shoulder in an open container and all she needs to do is just grab one. Go on mom... Fetch!

On our long walk tonight we happened to run into my old dog walker Celso. It was great seeing him but alas he still wouldn't give me a bite of his dinner!

On the road

We are finally getting back out in the world. This weekend mom, dad, Reid and I are headed to Mutti and Papa-dino's for a long weekend. It is Reid's first time off the island so there was a LOT of prep. I did my part and made sure mom had all of my stuff ready.

Since Reid is in my old position in the car, and mom has to ride next to him I have graduated to the front seat! I wuff being able to look out the front window. We should have made this switch years ago.

Li'l Man

Reid seems to be fitting in well with the fam so far. He comes on some of the walks with me, we take lots of naps together and I have been enjoying sampling some of his bottle nipples. They are soft, chewy and easily accessible when they are drying on the counter.

Even better -- mom is home all the time now!

Spring Cleaning

My mom and dad seem to be doing a lot of stuff around the house recently... Cleaning, assembling, organizing, and generally revamping our apartment. That must mean my little bro is coming home soon...

Snow to Our Ears

We've had it up to our ears with the snow...

New Year, New Responsibilities

My mom has been very busy for the past few months.

You see, I am going to be having some new responsibilities in a couple months; I am going to have a baby brother.

His name is Reid and he has been living in the hospital since November because he was born too early.

He also had a sister, Avery, but she crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. My mom says that is ok because Avery would've had a very hard time staying with us and it wouldn't be fun for her at all. I wouldn't have been able to 'nuggle with her or anything. I am sad about this, but I'm glad that my Grandma Erin is there to 'nuggle with her, and that Great Grandma Milly is there to hold her and rub her back.

My mom says that Reid is doing well, and even had a bath for the first time yesterday. Yuck. I hate taking baths. Poor little guy - I am sure he was really upset but that is what happens when you roll in the field and get into trouble. I can't wait to show him all my tricks: the cute hex, DMI, breaking out of the house, stealing cookies...

Another snowy day

These days it seems like it snows a lot in New York City. We had a huge blizzard about two weeks ago and now we're in for some more. Good thing I like snow.

My parents like it too because I act like a "real dog" and will pee on the sidewalk. Normally I only go on grass or leaves but as long as it's covered in snow, the sidewalk suddenly becomes ok. I'm silly.
