Love Camel

I am a Love Camel.

While mom and Glenn are getting ready for work I make sure I store up all the love I can so that during the day I am feeling it. I follow mom around, and get caught under her feet. I give "little ears" and look up at them so adoringly that they give me kisses. It's all in an attempt to suck as much love from them as I can. I sometimes even put my voo doo hexes on them and make them late if I haven't fulfilled my quota. They don't know that I do this though.

It's our little secret.

A Moxy Update

Moxy has returned to California and as you can see front this photo he really seemed anxious to pack for the trip!

Mouse in the House

Actually mom will get mad at me if I say that -- really it was on the bridle path this morning in the park. Mom, Ms. Cara and I were running this morning (4.5miles!!!) and took the bridal path because it is just a nicer run.

We rounded the corner bout ready to go under a beautiful arching bridge when I noticed a furry critter in the dirt. I, of course, pounced on it so that it wouldn't run away while I investigated.

Mom and Ms. Cara ran up to me curious why I was snuffling the ground. When they saw my new friend -- they shrieked! Woah! Was that really necessary? All that did was make my little buddy run in circles and be terrified.

I reassured mom and Ms> Cara (by jumping on them of course) and we decided to keep on moving.

Now that is what I call a great time!

I got Moxy!

This morning Team Spinnanama met Mr. Neil, Ms. Brooke and Moxy for a Central Park puppy play date. Moxy is a blond spaniel/dachshund mix noramllay lives in california, but is here visiting Mr. Neil and Ms. Brooke. He flew out to the Big Apple so that his sister, Ms. Brooke, could watch him for a month while his parents went touring in Europe.

That is a pretty nice vacation, I'll say! He said he really wuffs vacationing in New York City, especially eating the chicken bones and other "street meet" tidbits that he has been finding. He is much lower to the ground than I am and has a definite advantage at scooping up delights without his walkers evening noticing.

After we promenaded around the oval a few times (meeting Vizsla Casey along the way -- Whoop whoop!) we headed to Amsterdam Avenue for some breakfast at "Good Enough to Eat." And boy was it! Mom gave us some of her turkey sausage. what a great way to start the weekend.

Grass Stains

Today, I had so much fun playing outside in Mutti and Poppa-Dino's backyard that I had grass stains on my paws!

I chewed on sticks, trimmed the hedges, played keep-away from Glen and Mom, and visited with Ms. Susan. Yep. She made a surprise visit from Upstate just to see me! I invited her to stay for dinner, of course, and we spent the evening together relaxing on the back porch. What fun that was!

Smashing Success

Our house-warming party was a hit. And I of course was a superstar. Ms. Holly's fiancee, Lou, just kept saying "I love that dog" and I know it was on everyone's mind. But hey it's all in a days work for me.

Mom and Glenn have been busy this week, and this weekend we're going to Mutti and Poppa-Dino's house for what mom calls a Wedding Weekend. Woah. I can barely keep up!

House Warming

Mom has been cleaning and cooking up a storm because tonight we're playing hosts for our friends at the official Spinnanama house-warming party. Mom says it's going to be "open-house" style since we probably can't fit everyone in there all at once. This way people can come through-out the evening for a little time here and a little time there.

I wanted to invite all of my friends too but mom thought that might be too much - a ton of dogs plus food plus people could equal big trouble and dirty carpets.

Oh well, maybe mom will through an in-park housewarming party for us pooches later in September??

One More Hour

This morning mom and Glenn woke up a little early. We did our usual 'nuggle time in bed where I burrow under the covers and catch a few more z's. Then once I am ready I get mom up by throwing the covers off her and lying down on her pillow.

But today something different happened. I was put into my crate when mom and Glenn finally drug themselves out of bed! I mean this is NOT the way things go in the morning. I didn't fuss though, because I knew there was probably a good reason.

Mom and Glenn left the apartment and about 20 minutes later mom came back and got me. We left the apartment and went across the street to the park.

There we met up with Glenn and some of his Upper Green Siders. They were celebrating that fact that Mayor Bloomberg ruled to extend the Car-Free time in the morning from 7am to 8am.

It was coffee and donuts for all!

That means one more hour of closed roads in Central park, and one more hour of safety for me to run around.
Mom also won't get run over when she is running and Glenn won't get hit when he's biking.

All around it's a really good thing.

I wuff having a car-free Central Park.

Full of Hot Air

This weekend's trip up to Binghamton is was quite fun. mom, Glenn, Ms. Susan Mr. George and I went to a county park on Saturday and hiked around the lake there.

We stopped to cool off in a creek, though one but me went it. I don't understand that. I wuff cool creeks! The water tickles my toes.

That evening after a fine dinner, wee watch the hot Air Balloon Rally from the balcony of Ms. Susan and Mr. George's apartment. They were so beautiful and quiet, but one gave us quite a scare when the grazed the tree tops of a nearby mountain range.

Here are some shot mom took through a pair of binoculars. How clever!

Banged Up Again

This morning while scrambling for a ball I tore up the bottom of my back right foot.

Ouch!

It looks like I am going to Dr. Rosenthal again!

Spiedie Fest in Binghamton

This weekend we've planned a visit to Ms. Susan and Mr. George's new place up in Binghamton, New York. They recently retired and moved from Staten Island to "upstate." I can't wait to see them and I am hoping that Ms. Susan made more of those delicious dog treats she made me for Christmas.

One of the things we might do when we are up there is the annual hot air balloon festival, also known as the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally. On the city's calendar of events they have written: 40 Hot-air balloons, 250 arts & crafts vendors, antique cars, live music (Brian Littrell, Loverboy and The Cheetah Girls to name a few) and our local delicacy "Spiedies".

I wonder what a Spiedie is??
