Putting Him Through the Paces of Being My Dad

Since Glenn is now my new Dad, I thought I'd go ahead and start putting him through his paces to see if he can meet all of my expectations.

First Challenge: The Chicken Dinner.

Mom suggested that Glenn make dinner for us all tonight and so I was there to assist (read: judge) his performance.

He elected to roast a chicken (that's 10 points right out of the gate) complete with sweet potatoes and broccoli. Very well balanced and all things that I can eat (good for another 5 points).

As he worked in the the kitchen, I made sure I was right by him to let him know exactly how mom would do things. I know he found that helpful! The only problem was that he didn't let anything fall on the floor for a taste test, so that is a negative 3 points, bringing him to 12 points out of 15.

Good thing he has a "Flying Dog" to help him get through this! And because I wuff dogs and he's drinking Flying Dog pale ale I will award him the Gold Merit for Personal Taste (it is a very high honor, you know).

Guilt Trip 2: Quail Hunting Success!

We had so much fun hunting yesterday. We woke up at 5 am so that we could leave at 6. First mom and Glenn got their coffee fixes at Dunks, and then we hit the highway, Garmin style. It only took us about an hour and 20 mins to get to the Navy Co-op and we were actually the first to arrive, after Mr. Rich the organizer, of course. And because we arrived first - that meant I was the first to head out.

Mr. Rich hid three quail for me, and as I zipped over the bird field I quickly remembered all of my instincts - smell, point, then chase. Woo hoo! It sure was fun! Here are some photos and I will let these tell the rest of the story...

Here I am running around after huntin' up some quail... and you can hear Laszlo's dad calling for him! What a puppy!

Guilt Trip: Quail Hunting

Tomorrow mom and Glenn are taking me on a Guilt Trip to hunt some quail with the VCLI at the Navy Co-Op in Calverton LI. That is where I will take to the bird field to hunt some of my most favorite friends - quail.

We have to get up sooo-o early in the morning that mom is going to pick up the car tonight. Then its time to gather all of the warm clothes that we can find, and all the supplies that we'll need. Mom might really have to dig around in order to find her whistle and my hunting collar -- it's been a year since I did this!

In order to keep those of you who are requesting photos of me happy (hi Red Girls!) here is a couple funny ones of my trying to go for a ride on mom's train as she descends the stairs on the wedding day.

Team Spinnanama - Ta Da!

SO mom and Glenn have finally turned on the computer for me.

I know -- it's been a very long time, but I have been vacationing with Mutti and Papa-dino for the past month, and since Papa-dino is always on the computer himself it's hard to trick him into letting me have my turn.

They kept me very busy with long walks and loads of 'nuggle time though so I haven't been missing mom and Glenn too much. I've also had many play dates with my cousin, Matthew. Ms. Laura brought him over a few times to visit while Mutti and Papa-dino were off at work, and we had a really good time. Matthew's just learning to talk and keeps saying "bris, bris" whenever he sees my photo.

Here are a few photos from the wedding just to give you a little taste of what mom and Glenn looked like in their fancy duds.

I am anxiously waiting for my photos. Mr. Scott came over on the day of the wedding for another photo shoot with me. He took so-o many photos of mom and me. I just know they are going to be spectacular.

Mom's wedding day was a lot of fun. I wuffed riding on mom's train and jumping up on her very white dress. It was even more fun when Mutti started screaming "oh no! oh NO!"

ha, ha, ahhh...

I wuff when she makes those funny high-pitched noises! Mom was as cool as a cucumber though and just let me do what ever I wanted. She was very happy to have me with her, and didn't care one bit if there were paw prints on the back of the dress!
