Guilt Trip 2: Quail Hunting Success!

We had so much fun hunting yesterday. We woke up at 5 am so that we could leave at 6. First mom and Glenn got their coffee fixes at Dunks, and then we hit the highway, Garmin style. It only took us about an hour and 20 mins to get to the Navy Co-op and we were actually the first to arrive, after Mr. Rich the organizer, of course. And because we arrived first - that meant I was the first to head out.

Mr. Rich hid three quail for me, and as I zipped over the bird field I quickly remembered all of my instincts - smell, point, then chase. Woo hoo! It sure was fun! Here are some photos and I will let these tell the rest of the story...

Nice to see your mom + dad haven't stifled your abilities as both a bird-hunter and as a gourmand!

Want to go try your nose on some pheasant in March?

quail, pheasants, i thought you live in new york??????? here in london we catch rats (urgh but true) and squirrels....and yes, we have a whistle and some gundog training under our belt (steady command very important when spotting those rats along the canal)
