Today we're making the Big Drive out to Chi-town so that I can have my rendezvous with my boyfriend. Ms. Deb has packed us into the car - stocked and ready for anything.
She also packed a bunch of Murder Mystery books on tape for us to listen to. Right now we're finishing up a lively tale full of murder and drama and intrigue. Wow. Mom only listens to holiday music these days so this was a welcome break.
7 Hours Down... only 5 more to go!
Yesterday, Mom and Dad drove me from NYC to the outskirts of Washington DC.
It was an adventure! Mom packed enough extra clothes and blankets and food and water to last for days "just in case we get tossed into a ditch." 
But we didn't and it was smooth sailing along the I-95 corridor -- the road was dry in many places. To think there was over two feet dumped a mere 24 hours before...that is awesome. Here's to you, Mr. plowmen!
And now, the next chapter begins...
I was supposed to being my great Chicago journey (by way of Maryland) but alas, the snow has delayed us a day. So that means, a ton of 'nuggle time, and COOKIES.
My mom hasn't made any in a while and I think she needs to get off her keister and hop to it. Now let's see....

I can't quite put my paw on it but I just feel like today is the day to send out Season's Greetings to all of my friends and family.
Could be the very nice decorations in the lobby of our building, or that Hanukkah began last night....
Or it could be something else all together.

It's that time of year when mom and Dad really appreciate the 'nuggle sessions, as they like to bask in the warmth of my VTUs. 
This weekend, since it was the first snow fall of the season, was prime Christmas Tree Trimming Time. Dad and mom were responsible for the heavy lifting, while I took on more of a supervisory role on the couch and directed the placements of ornaments. If they aren't balanced visually it just throws the whole vibe off.
After the tree trimming, we settled in for some serious 'nuggle time. Not even the wind whipping down our street could disturb me from my dreams of Sugar Plum Pheasants.
I feel like the baby bear who's found Goldilocks in her bed, and I have the evidence to prove it. Based on the photos below, it looks like mom has lent out our apartment to a Miss Echo and her mom & dad... AND SHE WAS SLEEPING IN MY BED! 
I guess since she IS my half-sister that I Maybe she will come up to visit another time, when I am home.... I will need to write to her mom, Ms Kelly, and ask if she can come up to play.
We had the best time today - helping Team Nelson, Mutti and Papa-dino pick out their Christmas trees. 
My mom brought home a toy from one of her co-workers last week. It seems my trip to the vet was the talk of her office and my mom's friend, Julie, thought this little guy would cheer me right up.
She was right. I wuff him.
And I particularly wuff to carting him all around the apartment, squeak, squeak, squeaking him, following mom.
It is pouring out, and all I'm doing today is staying in and staying dry!

So last night I went for a slumber party at the Westside Vet Center. Mom took me there yesterday and Dr. Rosenthal thought it would be a good idea for me to stay and keep the other animals company for a little bit. I thought that would be fine since my belly was hurting so much and Dr Rosenthal always makes me feel better.
Once mom left, they took some photos of my belly with the x-ray and saw that I had something inside. They decided to give me fluids and watch to see if I "passed the object". Dr Rosenthal thought it might be a bone.
I do remember that when I was playing with Danan on Saturday we were playing tug-o-bone with a rawhide. Rut Row!
This morning when I woke up, my tummy was a rumblin', and finally, after an assist by Dr. Rosenthal, - pop! - out came the bone. Ewwwwww....
Dr. Rosenthal said she was going to save it to shoe my mom what I had been up to. Hey what about patient/doctor confidentiality. oh right. I'm a minor.
Rut Row. I am really in a bad way. After waking up everyone last night at 4 am, I threw up! Not once, not twice but three times. Yuck. And then again this morning I threw up again.
My mom is always trying to stop me from eating sticks, mud and garbage off the street. She says that it's because of those bad habits that I am not feeling well today.
I can't possibly see how this is related. After all I ate all of those things yesterday and I am not feeling well today. Clearly these aren't related right?
AND they taste of so good going in. It must be something else.
Like the rainy weather. yup! It's raining and I am not feeling well - that's it.
My mom abd Dad left me to fend for myself today. They went apple picking in upstate NY without me! I wasn't sad because, you know, I do enjoy my "me" time and had a great rest after an arduous morning playing with Danana in Riverside Park.

Yes. I admit it.
I am remiss in not posting the photos from the Catskills vacation.
But I have managed to put together a few to give you the flavor.
There were just too many to really do it right. 
Labor day is over, I saw the first changed leaves, and this morning it is on the crisp side. All of those things mean summer is coming to a close and it's time for my favorite time of the year - FALL! I wuff the cool breezes because it really helps me sniff out the birds and squirrels. 
Fall also means my cousin Caroline is heading back to school. She is in the third grade! Woo hoo! Here she is ready to get on the bus this morning, her first day back.

I am just briefly pausing to say hi and let you all know that we're having a great time. I've been in the pond and the pool and the woods and by the camp fire and all around the house. It is so much fun here!!!! 
Jade and I are best buds, of course, and we have taught each other some tricks. I am teaching her how to eat mud and grass, and she is teaching me to swim. I wuff vacation!
Mom has been shopping up a storm, bringing into the apartment all sorts of good food and beverages for our week in the woods.
I am going to start packing tonight myself. Now let me see... what should I bring? food - no brainer! treats. OF COURSE! my qweeker man. certainly. knasty knuckles, tennis balls, my gingerbread man, and my yellow kong wubba. Anything else?
In addition to it being very hot here in the City, we've also experienced a few very large thunderstorms. Now that we're on the top floor, we have been getting quite up close and personal. I have been taking these assaults pretty well compared to the trees in our local parks.
In Central Park, about 100 trees were knocked down this past storm. In Riverside, there was also a significant number of limbs and sticks that had to be cleaned up. 
Luckily I just helped dad and Mr. George clean up a tree in Mr. George's back yard this past weekend while up in Binghamton. I knew just what had to be done. 
For the whole last week of August, we're all going on a family vacation to Woodstock, NY.
We're meeting Jade, Ms Stacey, Mr Jason, Ms Becky, and Mr John, and we're going to have a really great time. Woo hoo.
Set on four wooded acres, Jade and I will have plenty of places to find mischief together - whether it's in the pond, the pool, the woods or the meadow! I just know there are going to be a ton of adventures to be had. We'll keep you posted of course.

For the past week, I have been visiting with Ms. Susan and Mr. George up in Binghamton NY. 
They've been lonely up there, without much to do, and needed a Vizsla to show them how to 'nuggle and fill their days.
Mom wrote out a five page note on the care and maintenance of a Vizsla and so far Ms Susan and Mr George have been doing an excellent job of it. Mom is even awarding brownie points based on the quality of the 'nuggle session - a complex calculation of 'nuggle time, location and technical difficulty. So far Ms Susan is slightly a head of Mr George, but it's really a neck and neck race.
Tonight mom and Dad will be arriving to pick me up, now that my work here is complete. Thank you Ms Susan and Mr george for allowing me to stay with you and keep you company!

Wow. oh wow. She makes me want to take a trip to Paris. Perhaps the Red-girls can meet me there?
Mom and dad have been working hard to unpack the last of the boxes (yes there were more in the basement!) and store things in the new closets in the bedroom.
So.
Finally.
I have my room all to myself. Or at least while mom isn't in there on the computer. and I really, really wuff it because the afternoon sun come in the windows and I can do a little sun bathing. It is wonderful.
I wonder if the flight attendant on his flight is going to do something like this??
This morning mom woke up late -- a whole hour late! You see dad is off gallivanting around the country on business so then it becomes my sole responsibility to get her out of bed in the morning.
Last night I double confirmed that she did turn on the alarm, but this morning she slept right through it -- TWO ALARMS worth, actually.
Finally, I decided drastic measures were required. I BARKED! And not my normal woof. but a full on bark. Tee hee hee... she was so confused after shot out of bed... I wuff that. haaaa...
So we rushed around and finally made it outside and into Riverside Park. All just in time to get caught in a downpour.
Being soaked is an understatement. This was a to-the-skin, might-as-well-have-gone-swimming kind of dousing.
On the bright side, though, it did make more puddles, and I wuff blowing bubbles in them.
Ms. Emily was nice enough to play photographer this weekend because my normal assistant was in Baltimore. Here are a few shots of the fun we had.

Mom and Dad are heading out to Baltimore this weekend so I get to hang out with my Danan and Ms. Emily. This is going to be fun! Ms Emily wuffs cuddling and allows me to sleep in bed with her. All night pillow fights!
Mom, when she was a bit younger, used to be a lifeguard. Along with applied suntan lotion sciences and whistle twirling 101, she had to learn CPR. Using Recisci Annie, she learned the correct techniques for Cardiopulmonary resuscitation on both adults and babies... but hold on kids....
now there is CPR FOR DOGS!
This is something every pup's mom and dad should know!
Because of the busy weekend we decided to take it easy this morning with some park time.
Mom, Dad and I went over to spend the 4th with Miss Emily and Danan. The fireworks were too far away to be seen from the roof top.
Oh well.
Instead, we entertained everyone with our wrestling moves. 
Ms Becky and Mr John came into town for their annual New York City Foodie Weekend, and I was invited along to the 79th street boat basin.
The boat basin has really upped the quality of their food and now offer a ton of options. Sweet! And they are STILL dog friendly!
I wuff them!
Mom final had the closets installed. and they are massive. floor to ceiling. and you don't know what 9ft 2in of wood looks like until it's already up there. 
Wow.
I am no longer the center of attention.
