Ba Haba Labstas

On the Fourth of July, the day when the sky sparkles and booms, Mom, Glenn and I traveled to Ba Haba. Mom says that is how it sounds, not how it is spelled.

It is spelled Bar Harbor.

But it was too crowded.

So instead we went to Acadia National Park, on Mount Desert Island. Acadia is spread over several islands, but we made it to just this one because Ba Haba was there too.

We made it all the way to the very tip-top of Cadillac Mountain. It is said that this is the very first point that the suns touches on the whole entire eastern seaboard.

Mom thought that we should go up the mountain before dawn so that we could see the sun rise, but Glenn reminded her that is was our VACATION and that was an insane plan.

From the top of the mountain you could see very very far.

We also hiked around Bubble Lake, and Jordan Lake.

All that hiking made us very hungry and since it was America's birthday party, mom and Glenn decided a trip the the Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound was just the thing. Mom and I waited patiently outside for Glenn to order and once he arrived with those lil' red fellas, we rolled up our sleeves and dug in.

Sounds like you had a great trip to Maine. And you really nailed the accent: Ba Haba!
