Island Hopping

One of the really funs things I did in Portland was ride on a ferry to Peaks Island. The islands around the Portland area are called the Calendar Islands because there is one for every day of the year. We visited the closest one that wasn't privately owned.

Mom and Glenn fitted me in my bright yellow life preserver and we bought our tickets at the Casco Bay Ferry Terminal.

With the crisp sea air in my face, we powered over to the island for a five mile walk around the island's circumference. There we was many beautiful houses, cottages and beach bungalows.

Mom was tempted never to leave, but the blazing hot sun sent us on our merry way.

Once we motored back to Portland, we thought it would be nice for some dock-side refreshments, so we sat at the Port Hole for a couple Shipyard Summers.
Not being 21, I had to content myself with a bucket of good ol' tap water.
That didn't stop me from taking a snooze!
