Boat Basin

Mom and I went for a marathon walk on Saturday. Well, it was only three miles, but it took almost two hours so I figure I got my exercise.

Benee, from Mom's work, was walking in the "Race for the Kids", the First Annual Legg Mason Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC 5K Run/Walk (http://www.raceforthekids.com/Race/), so we decided this would be a great opportunity to meet lots of people and experience a large-scale event. It began at 72nd street in Riverside Park, so we made our way down from 101st street, passing so many people and dogs along the way that my nose was working overtime.

We walked by the boat basin where there were sailboats, motorboats and ducks! I think the ducks were my favorite, but it would be fun to try my hand at sailing. Ahoy mate-y! Land-ho! Tighten the jib on the starboard side! See, I know the jargon.

Bicycles and rollerbladers whizzed by. I wanted to chase them and bark at them, but mom said that wasn't appropriate behavior. Aww, Mom, I am only four and a half months old! Cut me some slack.

Eventually, we reached the race's starting point and wandered around the tents and tables. We saw Benee and her boy friend getting ready for the race to begin, and they were in complete awe at my beauty and poise. I signed them up for the Brisztow Fan Club, right on the spot. After advising them on proper running technique (make sure your ears are tucked back and your tail is up) we wished them luck and headed home. It was only another 30 blocks... whew!

Great blog and great pup you have there. Dog lover myself (have 2) so kept reading and found your pup has a very interesting life. Good writing, keep it up!
