Training Day

This weekend Mom and I are going to our first Hunt Test down in Gaithersburg, MD. It's being hosted by the Mason-Dixon German Shorthair Pointer Club of MD, so I will be running alongside those hunting-machines! We didn't want to embarrass ourselves, so mom asked Ms. Stern if we could meet up today for additional bird work. So, mom and I drove to Mutti and Poppa-Dino's house last night and left for Zeigler's Blue Mountain Game Farm at 11a this morning. We were the first to arrive so it gave me a change to get the lay of the land and scout all the great bird hiding spots.

When Ms. Stern and Ms. Melissa arrived I was excited to see that Hannah, Kayla, Owen, Lucas and Rozie were along; I could tell it was going to be a very fun day for me!

Ms. Melissa got us 10 Chuckar birds for us to find and on my very first run I found all six! Unfortunately for us, though the strings that tied the birds to their stakes weren't very strong so three birds flew away. Luckily the other dogs were much better at the hunting/pointing thing, so they didn't need as much work as me. Whew!

I hope my teachers Mr. Eddie and Mr. Rich are proud of how well I did today - look at this intensity! It's all because of their fine training!

Here I am with mom! She's so proud of her little hunting pup.
