Dusty Days
On Saturday and Sunday this weekend, Mom, Glenn and I spent our time chasing dust balls. We had the task of packing up Glenn's apartment because he's moving out of it.
His sister Maureen and her roommate are taking over the lease from February thought May. I'm still a little confused where he's moving to and he keeps bringing stuff to our apartment... We already have so much there though that the walls are beginning to bend outwards.
One fun thing that he brought over was this CD player. Mom's hasn't been working at all (only the radio) and now we can really jam to the tunes. An added bonus was that mom, once she finally opened the CD compartment of her broken player, found a CD that has been "missing" for over two years...
Yep. Two years of looking for this CD and all it took was a click of a button. Mom was very excited to say the least.
Once we left his apartment Sunday night, the place was in pretty good condition, though Glenn's afraid his sister won't believe a lot was accomplished.
Personally, I did a lot of lounging about, but I know mom and Glenn were working very hard. Four push-cart loads of books, dishes, old electronics, and other knick-knacks, went to the Council Thrift Shop. What was brought over must have been really good stuff because things had been sold by the time Glenn brought the last load. He must've had hot cakes in there somewhere.
Then of course there were the trips to deposit the recycling, and the trash, and the paper. The shredder was going non-stop. I think Pappa-dino would have been proud -- his favorite thing to do is shred paper. Glenn's shredder even had a credit card shredder. Good stuff. I made sure I kept my nose, tongue and ears away from it though!
It wasn't all work though -- Saturday evening I went with mom and Glenn to the Unitarian Church to watch a movie, called An Inconvenient Truth. Yes. I went into the Church - not the sanctuary, but a family room used for meetings. It was all Glenn's idea, Mutti! Mom wanted to make sure everyone knows that it was HIS idea... I was on my absolute best behavior, mainly chewing on my raw-hide treats or sleeping. It was so quite and dark and warm...
