Mega Play Date

Today began as most do -- with my hour-long romp in the park. Glenn and mom had plans to visit The Schmidt's and the Kasper's out in Queens and Brooklyn so mom wanted to make sure I had a good long running session.

There were so many of my friends there and I was really revved up. I was feelin' good -- no stitches, no bum tooth -- and to top it off Laika arrived shortly after I. We ran and ran. We wrestled and fought over sticks.

Mom, Glenn and Ms. Jane were busy talking so it was like we were out on our own. Two wild girls in the City!

As the Off-Leash time wound down, and the five of us exited the park together. I heard mom say something about seeing Ms. Jane at 10:45, and that got me upset. Why did mom and Ms. Jane get to hang out and not Laika and I? I tried to put that out of my mind as we settled into rest of the routine (wet food for me since my mouth is still sore).

Around 10:40, Glenn and Mom started to get bundled up and, thinking I was going to be left behind, I went in to my crate for my nap...

BUT mom asked me to come out and put my leash back on me. Wait! What's going on? Did they decide to take me along with them? Yey!

We began walking a different way than normal and eventually went into another, different apartment building. There was something familiar about the place but I couldn't quite put my nose on it... We rode in the elevator to the seventh floor and knocked on the door...

Guess who answered!

LAIKA!!!!!

Oh my! I had been invited for a puppy play date with Ms. Jane and Laika! Can you believe it? I was so happy to see her. I met the rest of Laika's family and we began to play. I barely noticed when mom and Glenn left, I was having so much fun.

For the next SIX HOURS, we ran and wrestled and played with Laika's sister and brother, barely stopping to get water and go outside to the bathroom. Ms. Jane was pleased because she was able to get some chores done while we entertained ourselves.

I also got the meet the bunny and hamster that are members of Laika's family. Did you know I wuff bunnies? I was on my best behavior though and only just looked, not touched.

Mom arrived around six and we had finally just settled down for a rest. I said my good-byes and thank yous, and mom and I made our way home.

I fell asleep at 6:30, and slept through 7:30 --- as in 6:30PM through the night to 7:30 AM.

I wuff mega play dates. I wonder when Laika and I can have another!?!?
