Happy Anniversary!

Today is my mom's and my one-year anniversary!

One year ago today, I came to this city to find my way and learn about life.

And, boy, did I ever! Here is a poem I wrote to commemorate the occasion.

I caught pigeons,
I played in the park,
I met new friends,
and cried in the dark.

Mom has been the best,
always patient and kind,
teaching me lessons
without swatting my behind.

Ohio to North Carolina,
I've traveled near and far
keeping mom company,
while sleeping in the car.

I am so happy to be here,
in this harbor town of mine,
been here one year,
and feelin' just fine.
