Lightning Flies

After the rainstorm yesterday, mom and I went out for our evening walk. The humidity and rain caused the lightning bugs to really go at it.

The night air was heavy, making the world seem distant, yet close. Flickering and flashing lights in the corners of my eyes kept me on constant point, seeking these tiny creatures, curious about just what they are. But I never got close enough to see for sure.

I wuff lightning bugs.
