Hot Steppin'

Today has been so hot that I can't even keep my paws on the pavement.

Mom and I stick to the shady side of the street, but the full sun sometimes can't be avoided (like when we are waiting to cross the intersections) so I do a hot-step. I shift my weight, lifting each of my paws so that I get a few seconds of rest. Mom says it looks like I am doing a Piaffe, a dressage move where the horse is in an extremely collected trot, staying in place, carring most of its weight on its hindquarters.
